The RazoRock story began on an Italian holiday in 2009. Joseph’s father-in-law, who is a retired Italian Barber, asked Joseph to find and bring back some alum stones. Alum stones at the time were very difficult to find locally in North America and his father-in-law couldn’t shave without one! Joseph enlisted his uncle Michael on the hunt and Michael finally found a bunch of alum stones in a small shop in Lucca, Tuscany. Michael and Joseph were both curious about these salty looking stones so they gave them a try. They wet them and rubbed them on their faces after a shave and guess what? They worked! The stones sealed minor nicks, toned the skin and helped to knock out any post shave irritation…an idea and a business were instantly born!
The business started as a hobby and a pastime but as they both dove head first into the world of traditional wet shaving they quickly realized how luxurious and fulfilling this lost art of shaving could be. Michael and Joseph began contacting artisan producers of shaving soaps and aftershaves in Italy and contracting them to make special formulations just for them under the RazoRock brand. Passion took over and with the support of some very early and loyal clients, a hobby transformed into a real business! Today, RazoRock has an entire line of wet shaving products including special recipe Italian shaving soaps, artisan made pre-shaves and aftershaves, shaving brushes, traditional safety razors, a great selection of natural deodorants and a lot more. RazoRock is a grassroots business and Joseph and Michael have their clients to thank for their growth. The power of the internet and direct distribution, combined with word-of-mouth referrals from clients makes it possible for Joseph and Michael to continue pouring their passion for Italy and Italian inspired products into every RazoRock product!

This is my story. When I received this razor in the mail, I had about 24 hours of facial hair growth. Like a kid with a brand new toy, I was eager to take the razor for a spin. I went home, showered, and shaved. The end result was nothing less than perfect. BBS all over, including those troublesome spots around the neck. But since I only had 24 hours of facial hair growth, I did not want to get overly exited just yet. I mean, 24 hours of hair growth was not really much of a challenge for this razor with a Gillette Nacet blade. So, four days later, and with way more substantial hair growth, it was time to give this razor another spin. The end result? Same as the first. Four days of facial hair growth gone, just like that. BBS all over on just two passes, did a third pass just because it felt that good. If you are still reading this review, the moral of the story is, “buy the razor”, don’t double think it. I purchased Razorock XXX aftershave splash after seeing the multitude of badger & blade members rave about the scent and performance of the soap. I am more than happy with the product. The sent is manly and calming, yet not overpowering and the menthol is just enough to wake you up, but not so much as to freeze your face. My face always feels conditioned and smooth after the 1-2 punch of XXX Soap and Aftershave! A must have!
High quality product at an affordable price. By far the best scented Tobacco based product I have used or smelled. It has a classy, tobacco vanilla scent that blooms when lathered. Very little product was needed to produce enough lather for a two pass shave with extra to spare. The glass jar with metal (tin?) lid is classy and filled almost to the brim. The shaves have been amazing, slick and post shave feel is also nice. For the presentation, quality ingredients, scent and low price, there is no reason not to pick this one up.
I just used the alum again and I have to say that it is great, I kinda wish I saved that other one for myself. I find it hard to wash off my face as it almost makes my face shed or wick the cold water I splash on it. It does not sting at all like an aftershave does, but you can feel it (that’s for sure). As for the redness, I have always had problems with the redness on my neck. I switched over to DE shaving for this reason and find my neck a pain in the rear to shave. I often find that the razor doesn’t glide on my neck and it is really sensitive. However I think the presence of the red bumps is making this issue harder than it should be. So after a few days of using the alum the bumps are noticeably smaller, less red and only located on a couple spots on my neck. I have never remembered my neck being this nice. I imagine that if I keep on using this my neck will be cleared up.
The best thing is, usually after the shave my neck is pretty bad and then over the next hour it gets worse. However I have not experienced this with the alum. Although my neck is not yet 100% clear, it is very noticeably better. I feel like I should get a couple more sticks from you!
Amazing stuff !
Someone suggested I should try RazoRock to help with my acne. I’ve tried everything else so why not. Amazingly and an answer to my prayers, it cleared up the severe acne that I have had for over 10 years. Who knew something so inexpensive and so simple could do something no medicine or dermatologist could do. I wish everyone who suffered from acne could try this product. I use it twice a day. I wash my face, apply the RazoRock, dust off any residue, apply moisturizer and then makeup and the results are incredible. I am still amazed…It works better than I could have ever hoped!
The Infinite Lather Generator. This hulk of a brush is for those who do not take luxury for granted. I’m a fan of smaller knots but the more I use this brush the more I feel I’ve been missing out. The soft, DENSE hair generates lather for more than enough passes even if you’re a head shaver and need to cover more surface area. The barber style handle is about as comfortable a handle as you can have on a brush and makes loading soap effortless. For this introductory price, you can’t lose.
Keep in mind the product picture does not reflect how HUGE this brush gets as it begins to bloom.
Stop second guessing yourself and pick one up before it’s too late.
Very good product at a very modest price. I find this product to be of top quality with several fine ingredients. Don’t pay $15-30 for a fancy name, this is the real deal for only $7. I do use a few other ones too, as I like to mix up scents and test a lot of options.
On the side, don’t be thrown off of a preshave because it might not offer a big slickness change. The biggest plus of these products is often skin conditioning which makes the skin more flexible and less likely to scuff or cut.
Ill be honest, when I bought the Alum block, it seemed odd to me to rub a rock on my face after every shave. Asking myself, This has got to be a gimmick. How is a wet rock going to do anything? I was proved wrong. After my first application, I was sold.It smoothes and soothes the skin incredibly well, stops those pesky nicks and weepers that can unfortunately be part of shaving and leaves the face feeling refreshed. I ditched the styptic pencil and have been using the Alum block as part of my daily shaving routine ever since!
Even Better…I’ve been a fan of XXX for… well, forever. I also think RazoRock balms are the best and the best value. So how could things get any better?
The new pump bottle…that’s how. Air-tight and dispensing EXACTLY the right amount every time. No waste.

With this brush my shaving experience went from an 8 to a 12.5, with it just dipped in water it feels like badger hair. But with it loaded up with soap it feels like a pillow on your face. I face lather every time I shave and this brush made the most comfortable face lather I have had in my short 3 years of traditional shaving. Do yourself a favor if you’re on the fence about buying this brush, just buy it.
Pleasantly surprised! I have tried natural deodorants in the past with limited success, so I was skeptical when coming across this one but being the guy I am, I am always on the lookout for anything that is not made in a lab that works adequately enough for me to use on a regular basis…
Well I must say I am super impressed with this stuff! I work hard and can get pretty manly smelling in no short order, but this stuff takes it like a champ! Using exactly as directed, I have not had a single day where I have come home and the wife has directed me right into the shower. No stick what-so-ever!
I am adding more to my cart as we speak and hope to heck this stuff never gets discontinued… Hear me RazoRock??? Haha!
